Recent update: Changed the terms Player-0 and Player-1 to first and second player respectively to avoid confusion. (except at one place where it is necessary, in stub.txt)

Updated meta-MCTS. Still hard to say how the game will be solved in the end, with steal. If you had not implemented steal, it would almost certainly have been solved as a win for player 1. To make it a possible Puzzle of the Week, consider adding boss league. Boss doesn't have to be strong, just so to filter out random and crashing bots.

Game seems to work fine and is almost ready to publish I think. Two more things from me: 1) The animation for steal looks cool. However, if you go to next turn really quickly (by pressing on the next frame in the viewer), the animation stops halfway. Not sure how the SDK does these things, but it might be easy to fix. In any case it is not really important. I just thought you might like to know it does this. 2) In the description of steal, you speak of player1 and player0, this is a bit confusing. Maybe say "first player" and "second player". Or maybe someone has a better idea how to describe it. I understood it perfectly, but that's because I already know what it does. For now I am going to recommend adding pie rule/swap/steal to this game. Player one seems to have a major advantage when playing most starting moves, except the corner move. These are the results of my meta mcts so far. Corner move being m:0 Nodes created: 647068 m:0 visits:129414 win:46,4% status:2 m:1 visits:129414 win:58,3% status:2 m:2 visits:129413 win:60,1% status:2 m:3 visits:129413 win:70% status:2 m:4 visits:129413 win:61,2% status:2 (I'll keep the result updated) Steal/swap works as follows: On the first turn player 1 makes a move. player 2 then decides to take over that move or continue playing. When he steals the move, Player 2 gets player 1's color and let's player 1 move again. That way, the player first to move, has to play a balanced start. It has been implemented here: https://www.codingame.com/... Because of the steal, yavalath is balanced. If it did not have steal, player 1 would always win when playing center (this move is solved). This rule can never hurt a game, aside from the small inconvenience of coding it. Games can only become more balanced with it, not less. An easier way is to allow only moves 0 and 8 at first turn. This is likely simpler to implement because it does not change the inputs but is also very commital since you have to trust MSmits results (I do)

I'm currently running a meta mcts program to see how much this game favors player 1. I'll leave it running overnight to see the result. At first glance it seems the game favors player 1 quite a bit. This may need a fix (there being several options). I'll let you know.

Found another bug, this one is bigger. If you win the game with the last (63rd) move, the game finishes as a draw. So I am guessing you do your "out of moves" check before the "win check".

I noticed the player message doesn't stay up during the opponents turn. In other games, the player writes a message and it stays up until his next turn.

I like the size at 7x9 because it just barely fits in a 64 bit bitboard and it's not solved apparently. I found no bugs so far. Good job.

I'd suggest that you add a league with a not too simple boss (one that beats obvious strategies like "random move" or the more effective "always play first/last move"). * it filters out dummy bots which makes the competition more attractive * it increases your chances to become "Puzzle Of The Week" which is always a dramatic audience boost for a game Otherwise, your game looks ready for approval. I have not experienced any bugs or crashes

There is a slight bug in the display: when a coin slides in a column, it is not cut properly by the top of the board. It is partly above the top, partly under.

Thanks for finding it. I did not set the zIndex of the border of the board to be at the top. So, chip is above the border. Will fix it.

Again one of my favourite board game after dots and boxes but few things needs to be changed: board size make it a bit bigger one more suggestion don't give board input - for (int i = 0; i < 6; i++) { string boardRow; // one row of the board (from top to bottom) cin >> boardRow; cin.ignore(); } ^ this one cause you are already giving valid actions and opponent last move. else your call.just a suggestion and good work i will love to write bot for this

Thanks for commenting jrke. Actually you are the inspiration for me to make this game. I have been wanting to make this game for CG for years and always thought it would be difficult. But you making your game recently inspired me. Thank you very very much. For the input, I am thinking of keeping it for now, because extensive input may be helpful.

This is a nice idea to implement this classic game. However, it is solved as a win for White with starting move column 4. It definitely needs some fresh paint. I suggest that you change the board layout to increase the search space. Either use a larger rectangle (7 x 9 for instance) or change the shape to an octagon (I think it has already been done in another coding site but I cannot find the reference). On a side note, the graphics are OK but you need an ending screen as a polishing touch.
