Hi, I'm on a big deal to know the current acceleration of my missiles when they have been just fired. We have to know acceleration because when a missile is given the WAIT command, its last acceleration is preserved. So, to guess the acceleration on new missiles, I have to memorize the acceleration given by my ship command " | M ax ay", and next turn I have to detect in the input data which unit corresponds to the new missile. And there, there is a little problem : I cannot compare the idents because I don't know how many new units will appear from the opponent I could compare coordinates but to do so, I have to simulate the missile move on the five ticks I could find which missile from new input was not present in the last input, and it is probably the simplest method. Another solution would be to get this information in the input... Due to the data conservation from a round to another, coding the simulator is a bit tricky. I could consider too that guessing all that is a part of the challenge :D

Yeah, this is a bit cumbersome, but unfortunately any change in how the input / output works now is not really possible, since it would break the bots already playing in the arena. We used the method with finding the missile that was not present in the last input in our test bots.

Hi, I haven't found yet the victory conditions in the referee. Maybe you could add them in the game summary. This game is very interesting

Hi R4N4R4M4, glad you liked the game! When I look at it now I think you're right, victory conditions should be better exposed and explained in more detail. We'll most probably try to change it soon.

Hey there i have faced an issue - I got this error - The game has crashed. Please contact the author and enclose the following error: java.util.NoSuchElementException at java.base/java.util.Scanner.throwFor(Scanner.java:937) at java.base/java.util.Scanner.next(Scanner.java:1478) at com.codingame.game.Player.getAction(Player.java:87) at com.codingame.game.Referee.gameTurn(Referee.java:193) at com.codingame.gameengine.core.GameManager.start(GameManager.java:122) at com.codingame.gameengine.core.RefereeMain.start(RefereeMain.java:67) at com.codingame.gameengine.core.RefereeMain.main(RefereeMain.java:50) when i print this - `print("| F", x, y)` though the command is wrong but the game crashes causing a draw you need to fix this. Else great game great work!

This is very nice - well done. However, I have some suggestions: Perhaps it is too complicated (too many inputs and possible outputs) for newcomers and beginners. Also, you have to fire relative to your ship instead of at a given point - not so easy for beginners. So maybe make the game easier in the beginner leagues. State in the description the origin of the map. Finally, the image (2 horses on a hill) doesn't seem to have any connection to the game.

Hi, I am a co-author of the game. We added the information about the origin of the map to the description. > you have to fire relative to your ship instead of at a given point - not so easy for beginners. So maybe make the game easier in the beginner leagues. The premise of the game was to remain fairly physically accurate, and as such bullets inherit the velocity of the ship when fired. That means firing at a given position (that is, firing in such a way that hitting the given point is guaranteed) would require taking the ship's velocity into account. This would make it somewhat annoying to use for someone who wants to do the targeting manually (which I think is required at any non-trivial level), as they would effectively need to reverse the computation to fire in the direction they want. In that situation I feel like firing in a selected direction is more natural. Do you have an idea how the beginner leagues could be simplified? The guidelines suggest interface should not change between leagues, and I also wouldn't want to change existing game mechanics between leagues - I recall I was quite annoyed in other games when it turned out what I wrote to leave lower leagues made little sense in the full game. > the image (2 horses on a hill) doesn't seem to have any connection to the game. Yes, for some reason contributions are shown with the author's profile picture, and we don't know if it is possible to change it (looking at the list of contributions no one else was able to do that).

i recommend a planet in the middle, and resources to collect for partial reward / fuel / more bullets

Hi, this was actually our initial thought - to make some obstactles on the board to make movement harder, but eventually the game turn out to be hard enough as it is. In fact you can see in the other comments that some people consider it too hard for the beginners. We decided to focus on basic simulation and aiming, which alone is quite challenging, rather than implementing even more game logic.

Hi, I'm not sure if I fully understand your question - the output should consist of orders for your units - namely for your ship and missiles (if there are any on the board) - exactly one line per unit. Lines should be written in this form: unit_id | action_type [dir_x dir_y] | action_type [dir_x dir_y] | ... So say you want to put acceleration (3, 2) on your ship, which has id 1, and at the same time fire a bullet in direction (-4, 7). Then the line for your ship should be 1 | A 3 2 | F -4 7 If you want your ship to just wait in this turn, you print 1 | W The same goes for any of your missiles. So say you own a ship (id 23) and two missiles (ids 9 and 11). You want the ship to wait and both missiles to detonate. Then you print 3 lines: 23 | W 9 | D 11 | D Does it answer your question?
