When restarting a game, the hands are always different. That makes it harder to compare between bots. It would be nice if you use the GameManager seed to initialize your random.

✅ Approved the contribution. Comment: Not so easy to make a good bot for this well known card game. Graphisms are cool and the game status is clear. The "random aspect" of the hands of the bots seems well covered by the number of games.

Version 12: all disqualified players have a -999 score the cards are ordered in the display the previous played cards are all -1 at the begining of a round

yes, each disqualified player will have a score of -9999. We did it to keep them at the last position since all scores are negative Do you think this is a bad thing?

Except for the first round, when a new round starts, the last_played_card is not -1 but the id of the last card played in the previous round.

New version (V11): statement updated to remove the missing playerId stuff When you have 0 card in hand, you still receive the empty line (for your cards) WARNING: the game phase is now the last input line (sorry, that was the only way to fix the empty line bug)

I would extend the game rounds to 10 and decrease the time per turn to 50 ms to compensate. It's just my personal taste. Let others have a say on this. I forgot to say your team did a wonderful job. This new version is much better in all respects.

10 rounds would be doable. We'll only have to find 5 other backgrounds for the display (maybe on a sand beach...). We'll wait to hear what others have to say on it

"To know which player id you are, you must calculate it based on the first card you played" looks really unclear to me. The player's id is given at the start of the game. I don't see why it should be computed.

You're right :( The SDK trims the player output so I cannot finish with an empty line I can fix it by putting the game phase as the last input. You'll have a new version tonight

While trying to write a sim for the game, I found that, if there are more than 2 players, in certain circumstances, you have no way to know which cards have been played. For instance, if two players put a card on the same line and the last completes the line to 6, the other players cannot know which card has been played in 5th position. This hidden information is not symmetric and is not part of the original game. Therefore, I believe penalty cards should be part of the inputs. Regarding my previous remark on being unable to place a card, I think it would be better if the referee allow for choice on the line to pick.

When the played card is so low that you cannot play it in any row, the rule is that the player picks a row and put his card instead. If you want to automate this part, a safe bet is to assume he will pick the lowest penalty.

You're right. This game is done in our weekly mob programming sessions at work, so it doesn't update as fast as I'd like :p We'll get back to it tomorrow so you should have an update by hte end of the week

Games are very short (10 moves). Why not play 10-20 of them in a row, sum the cows and tell the winner from the overall cow count ?

* It would be nice to play a card by issuing "RANDOM". This is also a useful tool for catching bugs * You should give the penalty associated with each card. The statement should be enough for that. * The more players, the funnier is the game. Please allow 4 players matches only.

Oh, 6 nimmt. I've played that game a lot. I couldn't resist looking at your card shuffle. In the past (code4life, Spider Attack), players managed to reverse the random seed and get an information advantage. CodinGame responded with this commit: https://github.com/... You are supposed to use SecureRandom now. Updating to the latest SDK version won't harm, as it also brings a newer pixi version and some other improvements. Just write the latest version (4.2.1) in pom.xml to update.
