What is Hour of Code ?

The Hour of Code is a nationwide initiative by Computer Science Education Week and to introduce millions of students to one hour of computer science and computer programming. Get started with your hour of code today on CodinGame!

Our Hour of Code activity can be completed in class, or at home; on your own, with friends, or with the help of your teacher. If you have some basic programming knowledge in any of the 25 programming languages we support, you'll have a good time playing and solving our games.
And if you’re a more seasoned coder we have something for you too, like multiplayer AI battles or more difficult puzzles to solve.

The Hour of Code takes place in CSEdWeek, starting on Monday 4th December, 2017 and running until Sunday 10th December, 2017. All the activities proposed during are completely free and can be done at any time during the week.

What does this activity teach?

Coders Strike Back is a step-by-step puzzle game that provides an easy introduction to bot programming.

The aim is to win a starship race against other players. The game is simple to start and only requires a few lines of code to have a ship move around, but there are near-infinite possibilities of improvement to create more sophisticated bots.

To succeed in this challenge, you will be able to use different mathematical concepts such as trajectory calculation, collisions, speed vector, or inertia.

25 programming languages are available to play: Bash, Clojure, Dart, C, C++, C#, F#, Go, Groovy, Haskell, Java, JavaScript, Kotlin, Lua, ObjectiveC, OCaml, Pascal, Perl, PHP, Python / Python 3, Ruby, Rust, Scala, Swift, and VB.NET
